What SCORE Counselors Do:

1. Provide initial face-to-face counseling at our offices or at a place convenient for you;

   What Can I Expect During My Initial Counseling Session?

     The initial counseling session is an opportunity for you to ask your counselor for the specific assistance you need.
     Once your counselor has an understanding of what you are looking for, he/she will advise you. If you and your counselor agree that additional sessions would be helpful, he/she will set up a future counseling session with you at a convenient place and time and give you an “assignment” to complete for the next session. This assignment will often be to work on your business plan.

2. If you are already in business, arrange future meetings at your business location, either to follow up on your assignment or to obtain additional information.

3. Match you with another business professional to meet your specific needs;

4. Establish a “team” of SCORE counselors to provide you with specialized assistance in the specific business areas you may request.

  Business counseling relationships with SCORE can last for just one session, a few sessions or a number of months, according to your needs as a prospective or current business owner.
